Peal de Becerro is a municipality belonging to the region of Sierra

de Cazorla, located in the southeast of the province of Jaén and is part of the Cazorla, Segura y las Villas Natural Park.

Almost 70 years after its foundation, it stands as the most important cooperative in the area and one of the three largest factories in the world, as well as the most technologically advanced in terms of production systems and processes, traceability and quality.

The SCA Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación was founded in September 1954, thanks to the good work of a group of locals. Its first president was Rafael Pastor del Real, who was followed by Alfredo del Real Chacón, Domingo Puertas Jiménez, Miguel Cabanes Sánchez, Luis Trillo Trillo, José Fuentes Fuertes, Juan María Garrido Salas, Antonio Sánchez González and Antonio Trillo Marín until reaching the current, Alberto Luis Mendieta Zafra. The first campaign in which extra virgin olive oil was milled and produced was 1956/57.

Since 2005, when the new facilities were inaugurated, they offer a wide and varied range of opportunities for members and visitors. The factory has a large meeting room, meeting room, laboratories, offices, packaging room, warehouse, cellar and pre-cellar, grinding room and patio where there are currently 9 lines for the collection and unloading of olives. In addition, access to public areas is adapted for the disabled with ramps and automatic doors.
